Iris Ministries Canada exists to come alongside and support the work the Holy Spirit is doing through Iris Ministries Africa by facilitating Canadians who wish to serve as Iris missionaries and by managing donations given to this ministry.

Iris serves southern Africa and beyond, in some of the poorest countries in the world. These have been devastated by years of civil war, and in recent years, by tremendous floods. AIDS, TB and malaria are rampant, leaving unnumbered children to live alone in the streets. Jesus is pouring out His love on these once orphaned and abandoned children, as they now come home and find that they are adopted by God, into family at Iris. The ministry cares for over 10,000 children daily at our Iris centres and throughout the network of Iris churches.

The harvest field in southern Africa is an area of the world that is experiencing an unprecedented revival with hundreds of thousands turning to Jesus. Thousands of new pastors are being commissioned, and over 10,000 churches have been planted to date. Jesus' heart for the poor and the marginalized is being poured out in these days in unbounded measure, and the people are desperate for Him and no other. Iris Ministries is committed to providing short-term Bible schools to train and equip these pastors to 'go forth' and plant churches, and to provide homes for the children of these lands.

An excerpt from Rolland & Heidi Baker's book, There Is Always Enough, reads:

We need to know what He is telling each of us specifically. Do you want to love Him, and to be blessed by His presence? Here in Africa, He is all around us. He is poor, sick, naked and hungry. And as we get intimate with Him, we find ourselves taking care of Him, and He will say on that Great Day,

"Come you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." (Matthew 25:34-36)
