Northern Mozambique Orphan-Village Projects

August 2011 Northern Mozambique Orphan-Village Projects Update

Our Mieze and Noviane children’s projects continue to evidence more and more of the in-breaking of God’s Kingdom of love. Some of the highlights from the first half of this year include the following:

Christmas 2010 With our Kids at Pemba, Mieze and Noviane

Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Luke 6:20

Blessed indeed....for they will see God!

For more than a month, our little house was filled with brightly colored Christmas bags being readied for our Mieze and Noviane children. Each bag was lovingly filled with clothes, toys, and other treats specially chosen for each one. This year, many of the children’s gifts were brought over by a team of 20 who visited from our home church in PEI in Canada in November.

December 2009 Northern Mozambique Orphan-Village Programs Update

MIEZE:

•    The Children’s Village has been operating since December, 2007. All the original children are still with us and we have added three more in recent months... in each case due to the death of the last remaining family member.
•    The past school year was very successful for all resident kids. When the new school year begins in January, all but the two youngest resident kids will be in school—34 in total.

Mieze

The two major new developments in the Mieze project since our last report are the construction of the new church and community centre building and the wonderful children’s evangelistic program called the Bandeira club.

Introduction
As a result of years of extreme poverty, rural children in remote northern Mozambique suffer more hardship, disease, and abuse than almost any other children in the world today.
