Meet Louisa, an albino widow who has 4 children. We found her living in very poor conditions. As she has 4 children, we could not place her in the widows’ house. Louisa lives in a spare house at the youth project at Maracuene. She has a small business. Last week her Mom was visiting (what a great family photo!!).
"Back in 2008 our first widow’s home was built and had a capacity to house 8 widows. At present (February 2011) we have just two women living in the house.
Our first widows' home opened in November 2008, through the generosity of Iris Canada donors. We have named the house "Seed of Hope". Hopefully over the next 6 weeks we will move up to 8 widows and a caregiver into the house, located about 50 metres from our Zimpeto property. The women will work on our farm as well as re-start the chicken project.
