February 2007 John & Sandra Ewert Update

”After a quick trip back to Canada in December for our eldest daughter's wedding, we started our 2007 Bible school session in our brand new school building. This has been a thrill for us personally, seeing the completion of this part of the building project.

”As we reflect on the past four and one half years here at the Zimpeto centre, we see time and time again the faithfulness of God and marvel at His goodness. Recently, we experienced the Lord’s protection from an attempted car-jacking late one night.

”Jesus continues to knit our hearts together with the students in such amazing ways. Recently, with this new group of students, we were trying to get their ‘electrical problems’ sorted out. These electrical items such as irons and other gadgets are often not much more than several bare wires tied together, so of course they blow fuses and we get to teach on the practical uses of electricity while marveling that there haven't been electrocutions! There are many other practical areas of their lives that we ‘get’ to be involved in. The students say that they we feel like parents to them in many ways. We count this pure joy!

”While teaching Bible classes remains a vital part of what we do, these practical issues present opportunities to demonstrate the love of the Father for these pastors. These are the leaders and future leaders of this nation and we are so privileged to be able to teach and mentor these precious people.”
